None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For if we live, we live for the Lord,* and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14 : 7-8
In our world today , changes happen so fast. Days just fly in speed that our actions cannot catch up. People nowadays would often say : ” I don’t have the time!… if only I have enough time…” Then we wonder, has days become shorter, hours and minutes less? Scientists say that our earth is already old and they say ” Now, scientists have uncovered that the universe went in ‘extreme slow motion’ at its very beginning and has been dramatically speeding up ever since.Funnily enough, this exact theory was predicted by Albert Einstein himself back in 1915.”
These things we cannot control and yet we can manage how we spend the speeding days in our life. We take one day at a time. We make our day well spent. How will we do that? There is Somebody who can make all our days worthwhile. IT IS THE LORD! It is now more than ever that we should seriously look on our relationship with God. A Day with the Lord is as Scripture say : But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing: that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2Peter 3:8) God holds the time and if we spent quality time with the Lord everything falls into place.
So how will we do that? When we start our day, upon waking up, just as we open our eyes..
- Take deep breaths and say in your heart , ” Lord thank you for this day”. Let us start our day with gratitude. Saying thank you is one of our earliest lesson in life. Our parents taught us this few words as learn to walk and meet people. Thanking him in advance is an expression of our faith, believing that with God in our midst everything will be perfect.
- Surrender all your plans for the day. The day is full of our plans and expectations, hope and desires. We also might have fears, anger, frustrations and disappointments…all these we surrender to God. We say : Into your Hands O Lord I lift up everything, everyone in every way!
Then during the day when anything comes up that shakes or upsets you.. remember to say : Into your Hands O Lord I lift up everything and everyone in every way!
Then when the day is almost finished, before you go to sleep :
- Review your day. And whatever the day has brought to you , thank the Lord ( with faith).
- Ask for forgiveness for the day. Our actions oftentimes are imperfect, and for those imperfect reactions and decisions we say : Lord I am Sorry!
If we faithfully do these simple steps, we will see changes in our lives and it will deepen our relationship with God. Then when we have more time, then we can spend more quiet time with God.
Have a wonderful day with God!
